Shawn Caliber releases the video to his track "True To Myself." Look out for more of Shawn's rhymes in the near future. Check out the footage and listen to the lyrics.
Hoodie Allen is an independent Hip-Hop artist who just released his latest mixtape, Crew Cuts. I had the chance to document Hoodie as he finished Crew Cuts as well as on the road to his show at Hobart and William Smith College.
Throughout my time with Hoodie he stressed the importance of how believing (and investing) in himself as an artist has led to his success. Working a brief stint at Google was Hoodie's last "normal" job before risking everything and betting on his talent turning into a sustainable career.
In the past three years, Hoodie Allen has toured across the country, amassed over 40 Million YouTube views, and sold over 30,000 copies of his last EP "All American" and is still building his fan base one by one. Known for his down to earth approach to his newfound celebrity his fans are much more than listeners but a legion of supporters who call themselves the "Hoodie Mob".
Jabari Presents was created to inspire youth culture to chase their dreams by showcasing people who are living theirs. This is a story of taking a risk to fulfill your passion. This is Jabari Presents: Hoodie Allen.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis recently released their debut album "The Heist" which reached number 2 on the Billboard charts with 78,000 units sold in it's first week. Their success is incredible as the duo is still an independent act with no major record label involved.
In this short film I traveled to Seattle, Washington to spend the week with Macklemore and Ryan as they shot their famous "Thrift Shop" music video, and prepared for the release of "The Heist". The two brought me into their indie lives and showed me what it takes day after day to reach the level of success they have.

David Altenor released his video for the song "Beautiful." It's a great song about being beautiful no matter what because you are God's creation. Yes something different here on the site but respect to David because he's a talented man.
Wow. That's what I said when I first saw this running around on Facebook. Bill Russel is that dude.
Frank Ocean released footage of his Grammy rehearsal probably because he was not impressed with his own performance that seemed to be off pitch. He just gets nervous when he sings live in front of people so hopefully he gets this taken care of. Great footage though.

Earlier this year I got invited to see Joe Marson perform in NYC. Props to Anthony. I didn't know what to expect but I clearly liked what I heard at the Rockwood Music Hall. Joe is a great singer and musician and you should definitely check out these videos above and below. I even had the opportunity, thanks to Joe, to listen to his EP, Someday Soon. It's earned a place on my iPod rotation which means a lot if anyone knows I feel about my music on my iPod. If you like what you hear and see and are in the NYC area, check him out this Saturday at the Rockwood Music Hall performing at 9:30.
Remember Red the homeless G-Funk beat-boxer?! Well he's making a bit more noise as some of his videos are now appearing on Youtube. Although this sounds fine and dandy I want to see a lot more finished material. Anyways, check it out.
Jimmy Kimmel gives you a trailer for the greatest motion picture even not made. It's pretty funny and cool that he can all these celebrities to do a cameo for something like this. He's winning.
