Hoodie Allen is an independent Hip-Hop artist who just released his latest mixtape, Crew Cuts. I had the chance to document Hoodie as he finished Crew Cuts as well as on the road to his show at Hobart and William Smith College.
Throughout my time with Hoodie he stressed the importance of how believing (and investing) in himself as an artist has led to his success. Working a brief stint at Google was Hoodie's last "normal" job before risking everything and betting on his talent turning into a sustainable career.
In the past three years, Hoodie Allen has toured across the country, amassed over 40 Million YouTube views, and sold over 30,000 copies of his last EP "All American" and is still building his fan base one by one. Known for his down to earth approach to his newfound celebrity his fans are much more than listeners but a legion of supporters who call themselves the "Hoodie Mob".
Jabari Presents was created to inspire youth culture to chase their dreams by showcasing people who are living theirs. This is a story of taking a risk to fulfill your passion. This is Jabari Presents: Hoodie Allen.
