Reading Is Fundamental

One thing you should know about me is that I love to read. I have always enjoyed reading for pleasure ever since I was a youngin running around these streets. I've noticed lately that there has not been a book in my hand for some time. So as I begin to do some research on Nooks, Kindles, and other E-readers I am going to start re-reading books in my library. You may be asking the question why and I'll tell you. I read most of these books when I was in school. So if you get into the mind of a scholar such as myself you will realize that I had to analyze and write essays on what I read. I feel as if I was not reading to fully enjoy these books but instead reading to get by. Of course I can give a brief synopsis of the books I've read but I want to dig deeper. I want to appreciate these books at a different time in my life. So with that said I'm taking on this mini project of mine. I've selected 9 books to start off with. The following books are:

The Sound & The Fury by William Faulkner
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
Black Boy by Richard Wright
As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner
The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Lead Us Into Temptation by James B. Twitchell
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told by Alex Haley
