Kanye West-Runaway (Full-Length Film)

It's on Vevo. It popped up in an ad while I was searching something non-Kanye related so I figure I share it. I haven't seen it yet at the time I'm writing this post but I'll start watching it as soon I click on "Publish Post"

Note: Just finished watching it. A lot of symbolism. That's all I can say. Here is the Q&A session that he had with Sway from MTV about the movie.

Ray Charles Is A Genius (Article)

So today I was shuffling my music while talking to the lovely wifey via video chat and stumbled upon Ray Charles' "Lonely Avenue." After listening for a few I then switched it up to some fast paced music from Ray and began to imitate what Ray used to do as a performer or when he made his music. Since wifey didn't know the deal she told me I was wrong for mocking him. But I didn't want to mock him or make fun of him, sheesh, that would just mean I was a bad person. I just wanted to feel the joy that he had when he made music for us to listen to. Let's be real for one second. I wasn't around when Ray was topping the charts and in his prime but I know about his wonderful ability to feed ears. Then I remember watching the movie Ray in which Jamie Foxx portrayed him in the best way possible. Jamie Foxx even won an Oscar for this leading role. In the movie we see Ray at his best musical moments as well as his worst personal ones. I was already a fan of Ray Charles and then it soared when I saw this following clip of Ray Charles performing "What I'd Say" live at the Olympia of Paris:

WOW!! Let me tell you what happened with me while I watched the first minute. I pitied him because it seemed like he was trying to tune his piano but at the same time it was an amazing moment because it showcased his musical aptitude. He caught me offguard and had me in the palm of his hands. I was vulnerable to the "mistakes" he was making on the piano and the little "outburst" he had that was equivalent to "Damn why can't I get this right." But my sad face turned into a smile as he captured the beat and then I saw him smile as he knew that it was all just an act. Beautiful. I'll leave you with this clip of him singing "America, The Beautiful."

CyHi Da Prynce-Royal Flush (Mixtape)

The best mixtape of 2010. Yup! I said it and I will stand by that statement. Earlier this year Yelawolf dropped a mixtape and I said that his was the best until I heard different. Well it's October and CyHi has taken over. He's been on some of Kanye's GOOD Music Fridays and has been signed to GOOD Music as well. He's doing great work and he also held his own with that cypher at the BET Hip Hop awards. Enough talk though. Listen, download, don't act like I've steered you wrong before.
