HOW iGOON FEELS ABOUT PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

Wassup everyone...I just wanted to take some time off of the regular crap that I put on here to share some thoughts about President Barack Obama...I might just start rambling and letting the fingers type so excuse me if anyone get's lost or confused...So take a seat, play some music in the background and lets get it...

Today is November 5th/6th. A day after the election results. On November 4th, 2008, it was announced that Barack Obama would be the next president of the United States...It's important because we're tired of the last 8 years and we need change...He's the best candidate for the job and I really think he could make a great president if he really sticks to his promises and politics...

Now enough of that...Yup...He did it...He's black...First black president ever...What an accomplishment!! I watched the whole election starting at 6 PM, sat my ass on the couch of the study lounge and waited for the results as they came in...When it was decided that Barack would win I thought I would cry, be a changed man, and everything would be better...I was very emotional...At times I was speechless...And when I watched his speech I could tell that America was going to be headed into a new direction....What direction? No one knows...But hopefully a better one than what the Bush administration led us through...

One thing that bothered the day of the election was that it seemed like the NY Knicks just won the NBA championship...It was like your sports team winning the whole thing...Which means its just a temporary high...And that is something that makes me uncomfortable...A temporary high which means that people will be united FOR NOW, blacks will stop killing blacks FOR NOW, people will work harder FOR NOW, kids will find a new passion FOR NOW...What happens when that starts to fade out...I don't mean to ruin anyone's high but this is not a time for anyone to have a temporary high...If you really think that Barack is going to change something for America then make that change with him...Make stuff easier for him...People in general need to stop acting like fools and hooligans...stop being racist, stop being like YOU were for the past 8 years...

Personally I do think I'm on a temporary high and that after the inauguration in January, it might fade...Don't get it twisted...I have my shit together...I go to a great school, have a great support system, I have fun, I run a nice blog (internetgoon.blogspot.com) HAHA...My life couldn't be better...I'm surrounded by people that have a genuine interest in my life meaning that if I were to die tomorrow then they would be pissed...If I leave their presence for a while then their sad...Those kind of friends keep me moving...I don't have many of them but you understand...BUT in order for me and others to make this temporary state into a permanent one, Barack has to step up to the plate...And after he does that, then America must be willing to pinch hit, make a sacrifice bunt, or hit a sacrifice fly...Are we willing to stand by him when he decides to put his tax policies into effect, take the soldiers out of Iraq, and all the other stuff that he promised...Are we looking for change immediately? How long will it take after his first day as a president? These are questions that everyone should be asking...

Also what do you expect in life just because Barack is president? Again I'm not trying to sound all negative, but I don't know Barack and he cannot personally help me...If Bush was president for another 4 years I would still be looking for a job, looking for a career in the Sports Industry (Holla at me if you have any connects) still would be on my way to becoming wealthy as shit, still on my way to that party in the mansion for all my supporters...My route doesn't change since Barack is now in office...If anything all that was rooted in my mind because of my family...They said to put education first and I did...Now that Barack is president it does make me more motivated but it's just that temporary motivation that I explained earlier....

I don't know...this was on mind for the whole day today...and it kept getting worst the more and more I saw different facebook statuses about the election...(Yup I had my status update about Barack too) I just don't want to be led astray...

Trust me...I love Barack, I'm ready for change, I like having a black President, I like being Black but I don't know what it is right now...Yup...This is how I feel already and it's only a few days after the election...Holla at me and let me know how you feel about this joint...Thanks a lot...

It's the sunday before election day and all my focus is on Barack right now so I'm not giving you an article today...But it's like I gave yall an article before, so scroll down and read that drunk white girl at BC...But more importantly, here is just a bunch of guidelines that a lot of people sent to me and told me to share...

PROTECT YOURSELF
WHAT EVERY VOTER NEEDS TO KNOW BEFORE NOV.4

Given the unprecedented registration and excitement during this election season, and the reports we’re seeing on Early Vote, we can expect a record high turnout on Election Day, November 4. A higher turnout, particularly with lots of first time voters can also increase the number of problems at the polls. To make sure everyone gets the opportunity to vote and has their vote counted, we are asking you to MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PLAN FOR ELECTION DAY. Here are some simple questions you should answer BEFORE you head out to vote.

1. AM I REGISTERED AND WHERE IS MY POLLING SITE?
Whether you are a regular voter or not, you should verify whether you are still registered. You also need to know where your polling site is as it may have changed.
VERIFY YOUR REGISTRATION and FIND YOUR POLLING SITE by:

• calling 1-866-OUR-VOTE
• going on line to: govote.org
• calling your local Board of Elections

If you are at the correct polling site but your name is not on the register, you can request a provisional ballot. If election officials don’t allow you to cast a provisional ballot call 1-866-OUR-VOTE. You should only vote with a provisional ballot as a last resort after you’ve confirmed you are at the correct polling place.

2. WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE POLLS?
BRING ID. Not every state requires ID but it’s a good idea to bring ID just in case. For a complete listing of what kinds of ID are accepted in your state, call: 1-866-OUR-VOTE or log on to govote.org.
You should BRING YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!! This election will be made even more historic if we urge all of our friends and family who are registered to go to the polls with us.

3. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE LINE IS LONG?
The reality is the lines probably will be long. But that’s a good thing. To stand among the many of us who have never voted before who are waiting to be counted and heard is your chance to be a part of history.

• If Early Vote exists in your state, then VOTE EARLY. To check where to do Early Vote in your state: call 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
• If you are voting on November 4, vote as early in the day as you can.
• If you need to make arrangements for childcare, to eat, to take a couple of hours from work, then do so.
• Most states require employers to provide time for employees to vote on Election Day. While they vary in each state, they generally require time off for employees if the polls are not open two or three hours outside of your regular shift. You may have to request that time so make that part of your plan! For more information, go to: justvote08.org.
• Dress appropriately for long wait. You don’t want to say you couldn’t wait to vote because your feet hurt. Don’t wear campaign paraphernalia; if you do you might have to turn it inside out or cover it up to walk into the polls.
