I actually saw a status from my boy Figgy about school rankings and about how his school is back at #1 (Guess where he goes?) UNEMPLOYMENT (DEAR SUMMER) (ARTICLE)

“Umm…I didn’t have a job. I stayed at home, chilled when I had to. Made moves when I had to, started a blog.”

That is my answer to all my friends who ask me that question…No games being played here...shit was rough…But let me explain my unemployed life…

For the last 4 summers I worked as an advisor for an educational program that I did called Prep 9 (got love for Prep for Prep too) I became a head advisor for the last two summers…It was most likely the best job that I will ever have in my life…I was working with smart people, smart kids, smart bosses, just smart everything…It was hard leaving those kids but I had to move on…

So I was new to this “looking for a job” thing. And to be honest I was very cocky with it. I thought I would have a job waiting for me by the beginning of the summer because of my connections through Prep, BC, and other people. Looked for a few internships here and there, applied for some programs through Prep (didn’t make it though) That was when I was scared…I just put in 4 years with Prep and they played me…Trust me, my bosses were upset, didn’t quite understand why I had no job but I told them I was cool with it…and that I would find something…I had internship applications that I sent to ESPN, TimeWarner, NBA, NBC, and I think one more but I forget…I checked on ESPN almost everyday, had a connect in there…but they didn’t connect…and somehow the lady thought I was going to be a junior next year so she said “Yea try again for the internship next year.” I was so upset…I definitely sent an email saying I was a rising senior and that I’m looking for a job out here…goodness…but I kept it moving…I never heard back from Time Warner, but I’m trying with them again this year...NBC accepted (here is where I fucked up) but they didn’t pay so I kept it moving…I know people, I should have just accepted it, but I couldn’t imagine living through the summer, wasting money on metrocards, and food without any income…Just had to keep it real…But I’m trying again…

So now I’m assed out…No job…I see people starting their jobs, facebook statuses that said “First day of work was great.” Damn…I had to look for something real quick…So then I hit up my cousin, Old Navy, see what she could pull out for me…But I think I acted too late with that because no moves were made…But she did look out for me by sending me some $$$...Then I fucked up because S-Caliber was saying that he had a job set…mom had connections…He told me this in May…I wasn’t having it…Wasn’t trying to work with kids again either…But I went back to him, too late though…(But I definitely won’t be waiting that long next year…yzr!!) HAH…now I remember the other job…it was with kids…camp…went in and met some people…My connect was great (I don’t think she likes me now though) but at the end of the day I had to say no…I love kids…But the only kids I would work with were Prep kids…

SOOO…now I’m on Craig’s List e-mailing people left and right…trying to get jobs here out here…shit is not looking good…no one is replying…I’m getting sad, mad, upset…My mom is wondering when the fuck I’m going to get a job out here, I tell her that it’s hard out here mayne!! Nonetheless, there came a time when I just stopped trying…I gave up…UNEMPLOYMENT BEAT THE GOON…It was pretty rough…

In the midst of all that, I started a blog (http://internetgoon.blospot.com) haha…Someone is going to click on that link…hahaha…and without the support of the closest people in my life I would have never started it…Life would have been tough as it is…

BUT DON’T THINK THAT I DIDN’T HAVE FUN!! OH BOY…even though I had no job, I was out every freaking weekend…clubs, bars, random parties, get togethers, taking girls out, movies, dinners…all that stuff…And people would always ask me where I got the money from…and now I will answer that…Mom, Daddy, Sister…They know the type of person I am, they know I make moves, they know I plan mad shit, they know the deal…No I’m not spoiled but I got people that care for my well being…and my Mom didn’t want to see my ass in the house all the time…My dad and sister were the whip providers…I whipped it to a lot of places (oh yea S-Caliber’s mom too) People saw me in different whips…I had to make moves and look good while doing it…haha…But most likely if you invited me some place I was there, if you contacted me I would try to help…There was no reason for me to be unemployed and sad…I was the happiest person alive, living it up with my friends, and meeting new people…

Trust me, this is a summer I will never forget (got one more event coming this Saturday to just shut the shit down…JONES BEACH BAYBEH!!) I will never be unemployed ever again though…I could have done so much more…So if you learn anything from reading this, just be on your work grind at all times…don’t take shit for granted…Always have a back up for the back up and the other back up…Have like a million connects, take advantage of that card that someone gives you, that e-mail that the employer gives you, or that phone number your friend gives you…

As for me…I will be employed when I get to school…maybe two jobs…I’m back on my grind…The blog will be running kind of slow but I’m sure yall will understand…Shout outs to everyone that was part of my summer…young heads, old heads, future wifeys(wink) hatas, bloggers, BC heads, St. Andrew's heads(even thought I ain't seen a lot of yall) Prep heads, Middle school heads, elementary heads, facebook friends (I know yall are tired of my status updates and event planning) and just everyone out there…yzr!! Okay people I’m going in…I was taking a look at the blog and realized that I was straying away from my lovely articles that people love to read (i.e keep that white girl, gay son, facebook madness) So now I must go in…I must write how I feel…I must cause some discussion…LETS GET IT!!

I am 21 years old but I feel like I have been through so much with girls/women (not that way you freaking freaks!!) Actually it is in that way…haha…oh well yall, are right…But back to the matter at hand...Here is the situation:

A guy smashes, dates, or hooks up with a lot of girls and it’s not looked down upon at all…He’s considered a pimp, playa, or man whore. But a man whore does not seem to bother the men at all..I think now it’s even considered a compliment when a guy is described as a man whore…Girls don’t seem to mind. They want a guy with experience, who has been there before, who has walked that mile before and back…

BUT….WHY IS THERE A DOUBLE STANDARD?!!! Look people we’ve all had this conversation but really I want to know why…A girl is not considered a hoe, slut, or whatever name is out there just because of a number (number of dudes she has been with) And most likely if you ask this question, you are not going to get a truthful reply…A woman never wants to tell you the right number of men she has been with…I don’t even care for the number…Okay, let me not say that…I do care about the number, I do care about who she has been with, but not to the point where I can pass an ultimate judgment on her…I wouldn’t want a girl passing judgment on me just because I hooked up with this girl or that girl or slept with 20 girls or 2 girls…And if I like a girl and want to pursue some kind of relation (not a relationship) then I usually don’t care…What I am more worried about is the fact that a girl may have hooked up with one of my friends just because it may cause some tension or awkwardness in a room…

Another situation that I must let people know about is that if you’re hooking up with a girl then leave it at that…Don’t pretend that she’s you’re wifey and ask for her whereabouts, don’t try to get all mad when she doesn’t want to chill with you that certain night, and don’t get all mushy…IT’S NOT YOUR GIRL!! Yes there is a relationship, but not that kind…If you’re a dude then just call up another girl to chill with, don’t catch feelings…MAN UP!! Look, people a girl can do the same things that a guy does, and they definitely do it better too…They dress sexier, they’re cuter, they know how to cheat better, and know how to have more than one guy fulfilling their desires (real talk people)

I think if you’re in the hooking up game then this applies to you…don’t catch feelings…otherwise, if you’re looking for a wifey (which sometimes I am looking for, and have the girl in mind, but she shows me NO LOVE!!) then you may want to know more about you’re future girl but even that doesn’t happen until its official and even then you still won’t get the honest answer…hahaha…I tell the truth all the time, no reason for me to lie about any situation that I’m in…Some say I’m too blunt, or keep it too real but I might as well do that rather than hurt feelings down the road or get my feelings hurt…

So remember to keep it real, let the girl do her…you do you…and always keep it 100.
